
The Lightworks Alacrity NLE is the world's fastest craft editing tool which incorporates the Lightworks jog/shuttle console with analogue audio scrubbing. The Alacrity offers realtime effects (no rendering) of mixed SD & HD material in multiple compression formats on a single timeline. The Alacrity also features a software switch for instant SD/HD up/down-scaling to the output and a 16-channel realtime audio fader control surface. Recent Lightworks projects include a 4x Alacrity network to edit the "Almighty" comedy film - "Evan Almighty" (the sequel to Bruce Almighty).
The Lightworks Alacrity is perfectly and powerfully integrated with VIT and Softworks systems. In the broadcast environment the Geevs multi-camera ingest offers on-the-fly EDL creation for Lightworks editors for the fastest and most economical camera-to-edit solution - a true "VTR Killer". Mersey Television, the producers of Hollyoaks have recently added to their Geevs/Lightworks set-up, having now some 6 Geevs Servers and 8 Lightworks editors all connected to a large SAN system.

Alacrity is based on MATROX AxioHD 6000, inputs are SDI for Video and AES/EBU via XLR3 for the sound or SDI embedded. Alacrity MR supports nativly the most common formats; DV via Firewire, DV, DV25, DV50, Mpeg2 and uncompressed. For HDTV Alacrity supports all current formats 720 to 1080 25/30/50 in UNCOMPRESSED 8 or 10bits SDI
